The sound card designed for the Raspberry Pi minicomputer provides high-quality Full HD 24-bit/192 kHz audio playback with built-in hardware volume control via the integrated Linux API (ALSA) that uses the Raspberry Pi I2S interface. The overlay features a high-quality Burr Brown 32-bit/384 kHz converter (TI PCM5122). The board has two RCA connectors and a mini jack connector. IQaduIO has been acquired by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, which provides better support for users.
The phono/RCA connectors have a mounting hole that ensures stability when mounting in a case and prevents accidental disconnection of the card by pressing on the RCA connectors and bending the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.
The shield has pins so you can connect additional accessories to the Raspberry Pi GPIO. The DAC+ uses GPIO22 as the amplifier mute.
IQaudIO works with many popular operating systems such as: Volumio, Raspbmc, RuneAudio, MDP, etc. It allows you to listen to internet radio, your own music library or music services.
