The Volcano Silicone Caps greatly increase temperature stability, which is especially important when using high-flow cooling around the nozzle to cool the printer. The additional cooling combined with less heat radiation from the block to the print really increases the ability to print large protrusions and bridges while maintaining extremely stable HotEnd temperatures.
These caps are made of non-stick, high-temperature silicone, helping to keep the tips and block free of plastic residue.
The covers are supplied in sets of 3 because although they are designed to be as durable as possible, they do wear out or break over time.
