The microscope allows for several fixed magnifications in the range of 300x – 1200x. They can be easily changed without interrupting observations – all you need to do is turn the rotating microscope head. The illumination is built-in near the base – this means you can observe any transparent microscope specimen. The illumination is powered by batteries (not included). If external lighting is sufficient, you can use the built-in mirror to illuminate the specimen.

The metal housing can significantly extend the life of the device. The kit also includes a convenient and durable case for storage.
