Progress in creating photos

LUMIX S5 is cinema-quality videos and exceptional quality photos. All in a compact full-frame mirrorless camera body.

Ideal for hybrid image capture

This hybrid full-frame mirrorless camera delivers exceptional photo and video quality across the range and features an ergonomic design that will delight quality-conscious content creators.

Full-frame 24.2 MP CMOS sensor with dual native ISO technology

The optimized CMOS sensor delivers exceptional image quality for both stills and video, while the dual native ISO gives you more flexibility when shooting in low light and recording video without the usual increase in visible noise.

More than photography

Whether you enjoy using the 3.0-inch 1.84 million dots, a freely rotatable full-touch LCD screen with recording and playback modes, or the OLED Live Viewfinder, you can confidently capture what you see. Timelapse and Stop-Motion functions let you unleash your creativity, and enhanced High-Definition mode photos can now be directly saved as JPEG files to enjoy ultra-detailed, 96MP-equivalent images; this is especially true when resolution is critical.

Professional shooting options

The needs of content creators vary greatly from job to job; LUMIX S5 camera recording modes include 4K 60p 4:2:0 10-bit and 4K 30p 4:2:2 10-bit recording and 4K 8-bit recording with unlimited video recording time. When the 10-bit setting is selected, 4:2:2 10-bit HDMI output is supported along with simultaneous external disk/SD card recording, giving you flexibility and freedom every time you shoot.

A great tool for content creators

Unleash your creativity with the LUMIX S5 and take advantage of functions and features that help you tell stories like never before. V-Log and V-Gamut are pre-installed. With 14+ levels of dynamic range and a wide color gamut, this camera is on par with high-end cameras.

Advanced focus technology

The updated LUMIX S5 autofocus system makes it possible to exploit the advantages of contrast using the AF system and improved tracking technology. For enhanced reliability, the updated system features high-speed, high-precision AF and multi-layer self-learning technology to recognize human and animal bodies, heads, faces and eyes.

Dual image stabilization

Image stabilization is essential for content creators on the go. The 5-axis Dual IS II system combines body and lens stabilization to give the LUMIX S5 an advantage of up to 6.5 stops, so you can confidently capture the shot you want.

Compact and robust camera body

The LUMIX S5 is 30% lighter than the S1 at just 714g, and also smaller than the GH5, but still produces high-quality photos and videos. In addition, thanks to the magnesium alloy body, the build quality, and its resistance to water splashes and dust*, you can use this camera to take pictures calmly in various environments.

* Dust and water drop resistance does not guarantee that damage will be prevented if the camera comes into direct contact with dust and water.
