Display of maximum and minimum temperature for a given measurement [MAX], [MIN].
The result of a given measurement temperature difference [DIF] is displayed.
High and low temperature signal [HAL], [LAL] - sound signal indicating high and low temperature respectively.
Continuous temperature measurement function without holding the switch [lock symbol].
Radiation regulation [EMS].
Save the last 100 measurements [LOG].
Low battery indication when battery voltage is below 2.4V [battery symbol].
Automatic device shutdown after 30 seconds of inactivity.
Infrared radiation - each object, depending on its current temperature, emits the corresponding infrared radiation. In an infrared thermometer, this radiation is optically directed to an infrared sensor, which converts it first into heat and then into electricity. The energy value is read and converted into a temperature reading. The entire process takes no longer than 0.5 seconds with the YATO pyrometer.
Emissivity is a parameter that determines the ability of an object to emit thermal radiation. Most organic, colored and oxidized materials have an emissivity of 0.95 and this is the factory setting. However, some materials, such as lead or aluminum, have a much lower permeability, so if you want the measurement to be as close as possible to the real one, you must first determine the appropriate value of the permeability parameter for the material in question. Tables of luminance factors can be found in the scientific literature or on the Internet.
Low and high temperature signal - this function is useful, for example, to detect thermal bridges on cold days. To get a reference point, measure the temperature in the middle of the wall and, depending on the outside temperature, set the low temperature alarm a few degrees lower. The next step is to measure the temperature in places where thermal bridges are most likely, such as wall-to-ceiling joints, around window frames, etc. If the temperature reading falls below the set signal value, you will hear an acoustic signal and an additional indication will appear on the screen.
Measurement accuracy - The optics and control electronics of YATO pyrometers are characterized by high measurement accuracy and repeatability. However, due to the many variables beyond the manufacturer's control, including humidity and ambient temperature at the measurement locations, it is impossible to calibrate the instrument to 100% accuracy under all conditions. The manufacturer claims that the measurement error is 2%, but not less than +-1.5 °C at an ambient temperature of 0-40 °C. This means that when the correct emissivity is set, a measurement result of 100 °C should be interpreted as a value in the range 101.5-98.5 °C.
