CARBON STEEL
Our carbon steel is extremely hard, which guarantees excellent cutting quality, good wear resistance and easy re-grinding. Carbon can corrode easily. We advise you to avoid wet areas and to clean and lubricate the blade after use.
HANDLE
Beech is the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. Our beech from France is hard, durable and easy to work. The appearance is homogeneous, the light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by many small dark lines.
PROTECTIVE RING
The safety ring, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, is attached to all folding knives from No. 06. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc has two parts, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the knife open (use safety), it is now possible to lock the knife closed (transport safety).
