VIDEO QUALITY
See never-before-seen details
The next-generation 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor captures a wide dynamic range with incredible clarity and low noise: it's the perfect partner for our advanced RF lenses.
Full-frame 45-megapixel CMOS sensor and DIGIC X processor
For impressive clarity and detail of any photographed subject - even in darkness up to ISO 51, 200.
Introducing Portrait Light Supplement and Clear Background features
With Dual Pixel RAW, you can adjust the lighting of your subjects' faces or increase the clarity of the background in landscape photos.
Maintain sharpness and focus
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II - lightning-fast focusing with 5,940 selectable AF positions covering virtually 100% of the frame area. Fast-moving subjects remain sharp even when they move unpredictably and suddenly, and the face and eye detection feature is perfect for shallow depth-of-field portraits.
Advanced AF beyond standards
The camera's autofocus is programmed using deep learning artificial intelligence – first developed for our advanced EOS-1D X Mark III. As a result, the EOS R5 can recognize and track a subject's face and eyes more accurately than ever, even when shooting from the side. This tracking capability is also available when shooting dogs, cats and birds, so they stay sharp as they move – the first EOS camera to do so.
EFFICIENCY
Maximum speed, maximum quality. Rule-changing performance that takes creativity to new heights.
No other camera can match the capabilities of the EOS R5. Shoot 45-megapixel full-frame images at an impressive 20 fps in total silence with full autofocus tracking. In addition, a mechanical shutter can be used if required, which boasts a best-in-class shooting speed of up to 12 fps.
VIDEO
A new level of filming standards... and again
As the pioneers of DSLR video and creators of the acclaimed Cinema EOS range of camcorders and lenses, we certainly have the experience and know-how to ensure that the EOS R5 also has enviable shooting capabilities. Shoot internal 12-bit RAW video in 8K resolution or 4K (4:2:2 10-bit) up to 120p for exceptional video effects. This is achieved by using the full width of the camera's full-frame sensor, resulting in a truly cinematic image. Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with face and eye detection maintains sharpness at all times and enables impressive zoom effects in all image modes.
