The module is designed to protect gigabit LAN networks from surges and lightning strikes. It is built on a multilayer PCB with carefully designed printed circuits, which, together with special category 6 sockets, ensure excellent transmission quality. Each cable wire is individually protected by a hybrid protection system with a surge strength of 100A (8/20uS), providing a basic level of protection against surges in LAN cables.

The low value of wave reflections, extraneous cross-section and 4 x 125Mhz frequency attenuation, as well as the permanent connection of the cable shield allowed the PTF-64-ECO module to be classified as a product that complies with the Category 6 standard. which is important for large 1000Base-T LAN networks. Despite the fact that the most popular 1000Base-T networks do not use Category 6 quality parameters, the quality reserve of the parameters is important for the stability of their operation, since the number of interference signals increases in proportion to the number of LAN cables assembled. riser.

For devices powered by PoE, independent surge protection is built in between pairs 1.2-3.6 and 4.5-7.8. This solution protects the power supplies of LAN devices from damage caused by lightning surges or uncontrolled voltage surges, for example, due to damage to the PoE power supply. The solutions used protect all types of PoE power supplies and allow power transmission in the Hi PoE standard.

RJ-45 jacks are used on the protected (Device) and unprotected (Line) sides. This solution speeds up cable connections, servicing complex protective shields in the rack cabinet, and facilitates their connection to existing devices.

The PTF-64-ECO/PoE module is mounted in a dedicated PTU/PTF-6-RACK base, which can accommodate up to 4 different types of modules. There are also identical 8 and 16-channel devices with all modules of the same type. The module can also be used in small installations and screwed to the wall, after mounting it in the PTF-6-Box plastic housing.
