How does water filtration work with Brita Maxtra+ Pure Performance filters?
Unfiltered water flows through the inlet into the filter. A fine sieve catches coarse particles - organic impurities. The water then comes into contact with the filter mixture itself, which primarily contains 2 components.
A resin which, as an ion exchanger, reduces the carbonate hardness of the water (scale) and absorbs heavy metals (lead, copper).
Activated carbon - when water comes into contact with activated carbon microparticles, the substances that negatively affect the taste and smell of water, especially chlorine and pesticides, are significantly reduced and trapped on the porous surface of the activated carbon microparticles (Micro Carbon Pearls). An extra fine grid on the bottom of the filter prevents the possible release of small particles of the filter mixture into the already filtered water.
