  • Device SSID: ShellyEMG3-XXXXXXXXXXXX

  • BLE Model ID: 0x1027

Short description

Shelly EM Gen3 (hereinafter - the Device) is a small-form smart energy meter using up to 2 current transformers (contactless metering), which allows you to measure the consumption of electrical appliances and provide reports to a mobile phone, tablet, PC or home automation system. It can work autonomously on a local Wi-Fi network or be controlled via cloud home automation services. The device has an internal data storage that allows you to restore them later. The device has one dry contact switch for controlling external loads.

The Shelly EM Gen3 device can be accessed, controlled and monitored remotely from any location where the user has an internet connection, as long as the device is connected to a Wi-Fi access point and the internet.

Shelly EM Gen3 can be installed in standard electrical wall boxes, near electrical appliances, electrical outlets or other places where installation space is limited.

The Shelly EM Gen3 has an integrated web interface that can be used to monitor, configure and control the device.

Main functions
  • Compact forms

  • Single-phase, two-channel measurement

  • Connecting the current transformer

  • Dry contact relay for contactor control

  • Real time clock

  • The device stores up to 10 days of minute data records

Use cases
  • Power consumption monitoring: Monitor the power consumption of connected devices in real time. This information can be valuable in understanding energy consumption patterns and making informed decisions about reducing consumption.

  • Optimizing energy efficiency: Identify patterns of electricity consumption and optimize electricity usage.

  • Checking the health of devices: Track the electricity usage of individual devices to assess their health and performance over time. Sudden spikes or changes in power consumption may indicate problems with the device.

    .
  • Cost management: By knowing your electricity consumption, you can estimate the operating costs of specific appliances and manage your electricity costs more effectively.

  • Efficient space adaptation: The device can be integrated into standard electrical wall boxes, behind sockets, light switches or other places where space is limited.

  • Remote monitoring: Shelly EM Gen3 supports publishing data to the Shelly cloud or other cloud data collection and storage systems, allowing you to monitor energy consumption even when you are away from home.

  • Local Monitoring: Like other devices in the Shelly Wi-Fi line, the Shelly EM Gen3 allows only local monitoring and automation. Access to saved energy consumption records is available directly from the device's user interface. Automate on-site by applying rules based on instantaneous energy consumption or energy consumption over a period of time.
